Autumn Haiku 2016

Sun seeps through the fog.
It warms the dewy concrete path
And the slick brown leaves.

My hands finally feel cold,
When I ride my bike to work
Before the sun is up.

Mottled maple trees
Shed their many colored bits,
Like my cat in Spring

Mile long shadows,
Down the street I take home, and
I can see my breath.

Sunburnt from an outing
Two days ago, cheeks still red;
I zip up my hoodie.
